They've been pretty spartan, to date.and I doubt they're changing at the behest of Volvo more or less they're changing because the average driver want's some amenities. Have you ever seen a mack's interior? They're only now starting to get some creature comforts. Volvo doesn't cross over into Mack it would seem. In summary, I'd say the biggest similarity these two engines share, is that they both go into class 8's. I'll link my two sources shortly after this next bit. Mack is a bit more protective of it's engine data, then Volvo, it would seem. That's the major differences I could pull from the resources available. Depending on which MP8 you get the BHP could run anywhere from 415 to 505, whereas the d 13 runs anywhere between 375 to 500 BHP depending on how it's setup and model type as well. MP8's are running wastegate turbos variable turbos, D13 is running sliding nozzle variable geometry.
